| Aloe vera can reduce inflammation up to 47%. |
Greek historian Discorides recorded the use of aloe as a healing herb more than 2000 years ago. The gel was applied externally to wounds and was used to clear blemishes, soothe itches, and maintain healthy skin. In fact, legend has it that Cleopatra massaged fresh aloe into her skin every day to preserve her beauty. Some also believed it prevented hair loss and rubbed it into their scalps.
Scientists have found that aloe has anesthetic, anti-bacterial, and tissue restorative properties. It heals burns from flame, sun, and radiation. Salicylates, which have both anti-inflammatory and pain killing characteristics, are found in aloe. So is magnesium lactate, a substance that can inhibit histamine reactions of the sort that can cause, among other things, itching and irritation of the skin.
A study conducted by Dr. Robert Davis showed that Aloe vera applied topically can reduce skin inflammation up to 47%. Plus, the amino acids in Aloe vera provide building blocks for keratin, the principal protein in hair (a healthy hair is almost 90% protein).

| Rosemary increases blood flow to the scalp. |
Rosemary was thought to possess great powers of protection against evil spirits and demons. It was also a symbol of remembrance, friendship, and love. It was considered a medicinal herb because of its anti-bacterial properties. The leaves were burned to keep away disease and germs in many hospitals and medical offices. The fragrant, pine-scented oil was used in clothing storage chests, soaps, creams, lotions, perfumes, and toilet waters. The herb is also a vasodilator, increasing blood flow to the scalp. Improved blood flow brings important nutrients and oxygen to the scalp.
